The management of essential resources in an emergency setting is crucial to the chances of success. Vital equipment such as PLB’s, satellite phones and food and water need to be cared for and used when needed.
Sharing this responsibility amongst the group will increase the likelihood of success in this area as each member will only need to focus on looking after one thing. Also, the leader will also need to ensure that the whole group understands what the priorities in this situation. Again, referring to the acronym PLAN (see below) will assist the group to understand why things are being done this way.
